Service Projects

All MOMS Club chapters are required to do one service project benefiting children in their community.  Our chapter has consistently gone above and beyond this requirement each year, helping us to receive "Outstanding Service Program" recognition from MOMS Club International.  Here some of the projects that we have participated in:

  • America's Walk for Diabetes - Participated in the walk for the past 2 years, raising over $2,400 for diabetes research.
  • Breast Cancer Walk - Participated in the "Making Strides Against Breast Cancer" walk for the past 4 years, raising over $1,400.
  • Coupon Collection - Sent coupons to a Marine Corp Base in Japan.
  • Food Drive - Every year we do at least one food drive and donate the items to MCFOODS which supplies over 60 area food pantries.
  • Garage Sale - We participated in the Metuchen Townwide garage sale and donated all proceeds to benefit victims of Hurricane Katrina.
  • Halloween Parade - We do a costume parade every year at an assisted living facility.
  • Operation Shoebox - Collected personal care items that were donated to troops serving in Iraq.
  • Stuffed Animal Collection - We donated gently used stuffed animals and costume jewelry to Roosevelt Care Center for them to use as Bingo prizes for the residents.
  • Veteran's Home - We've collected books and magazines and donated them for the residents and have made them crafts for Memorial Day and Veteran's Day.
  • "Write From the Start" - We donated new school supplies to this United Way program for children that might not have supplies to start off the new school year.
